Fatima Bhutto is a writer of five books, an activist and a campaigner. She is the daughter of the assassinated politician Ghulam Murtaza Bhutto, the granddaughter of the former president and Prime Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. and the niece of the assassinated Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

In her book Songs of Blood and Sword, she gives a rare discernment into the violent world of Pakistan Politics and writes about her search for the truth behind her father's life and his murder.
