Listen "When Saturday Comes: I'm Really Creative - Steve Corry"
Episode Synopsis
“When Saturday Comes” isn’t just a clarion call to the football lovers of the world, but also a beacon of respite to those who’ve spent the week at their labours.
Paul is joined by Steve Corry to discuss the importance of the weekend, and how he personally uses this hallowed time each week to develop himself, to pursue his passion of football, and more recently, to help others enjoy the beautiful game.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
The “weekend” as a concept has become a time of rest, reflection and creativity; a time we have all grown to treasure as a society, as a time when we can indulge our creative sides in our respective leisure pursuits.
Those with impairments have just as much right to enjoy football as everyone else. Steve has made it his mission to help those with visual impairments to keep their love and involvement in the game.
Preaching about a subject you’re passionate about doesn’t necessarily require a qualification. We do it because we love it, and because we want the world to share that love.
The moments that complicate our lives are generally motivated by negativity, greed or materialism. The truly memorable moments, the ones that live on in our hearts, are the moments of connection and love.
BEST MOMENTS
’That golden period at the weekend is theirs to express their talents’
’Spend time - not money’
’They don’t want to miss the feel of the plastic seat, or the smell of the burger van’

ABOUT THE GUEST
Football has been a way of life for Steve, for as long as he can remember – playing it, writing about it, and now commentating on it.
Despite failing to make a career out of the professional game, it’s presented him with some amazing experiences and opportunities along the way.
Aptly, the game of life is more important to him than football, and it’s one which anybody can win, with the right perspective.
Steve is forever indebted to his parents – both of whom are Irish immigrants – for the values they’ve instilled in him. He’s proud to carry their DNA, and treats everyone he meets with respect, and without prejudice.
He lives a simple, uncomplicated life, which has served him well thus far.

ABOUT THE HOST
One thing that’s never been attached to Paul is the label ‘normal’ – something he is totally aware of. He definitely subscribes to being one of those mentioned the iconic ‘Think Different’ Apple commercial narrated by Steve Jobs in 1977:
“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do!”
Paul has a long and distinguished history of coaching & mentoring – particularly focusing on helping people make the transition from pain to purpose; a journey he has made himself, from the depths of a deep dark existence, to now living a life of happiness and prosperity.
Through this Mastering The Game Of Life podcast, and books he has been involved in – including being a best-selling co-author – Paul also helps others to get their own inspirational messages and stories out into the world; as well as offering support to many charitable organisations, in their development & fund-raising.
