The Law of Life and Freedom📖 Scripture: Romans 8:2–4 - “2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.🧠 Explanation: The law could show us our sin, but it couldn’t save us. It was meant to give us life, but it was powerless to do so because of our flesh. Thus, we were condemned (i.e., we were under the law of sin and death). Jesus came to fulfill the requirements of the law and overcame sin on our behalf by being a sin offering. Through Him, we are forgiven of our sins. We are no longer under condemnation. Also, through Christ, the law of the Spirit who gives life has released us from the law of sin and death.🛠 Application: Stop striving to earn God's approval. Trust in what Christ has already done on the cross.
