A Chicago legend, Portillo's has been serving up Chicago-style street food since the company first opened in 1963 with Dick Portillo's first hot dog stand known as "The Dog House". Today, the company has just under 90 locations and is expanding nationwide!  We relished in the opportunity to speak with Garrett Kern, VP Strategy & Culinary, for Portillo's. We discussed some of their fun history and things Chicagoans may not know about the famous brand. Plus, hear about their new salads and how his team takes a customer feedback and turns it into new menu concepts.  We also discussed what they are doing to celebrate National Hot Dog Month this July & National Hot Dog Day (July 17th)!
