Karen served at the University of Central Oklahoma for more than 27 years, working as the women’s head track coach, field hockey coach, senior women’s athletic director, assistant dean in the College of Education and vice president of Academic Affairs. She was the first Oklahoman to serve as president of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Karen has also served as executive director of two state AHPERD associations, Oklahoma and Florida.
