Listen "The Robodebt Fiasco - Part 2"
Episode Synopsis
When the Albanese Government announced a Royal Commission into Robodebt, Deb Smith put the pieces together with this analysis of the history of the data matching program which compares tax data against social security records, and its corruption by the "robodebt" policy. What do we already know about what went wrong and what has the Royal Commission found?
This episode includes;
the announcement by Social Services Minister Amanda Rishworth (ALP) that Centrelink will no longer pursue about 200,000 outstanding debts,
information from the Initial Hearing and the Robodebt Royal Commission website about how the RC will operate, how to make a submission, and other relevant information
a summary of the Directions Hearing which dealt with administrative matters such as the production of documents, delays in the RC receiving them and which documents are inadmissable.
