Listen "0024 Junel Malapad"
Episode Synopsis
Junel Malapad brings his Winnipeg‑rooted passion and purpose to the forefront. A self‑described “Running Day” visionary, since 2015 Junel has led community runs every Boxing Day, braving Winnipeg’s harsh winters, even –41 °C to raise funds and awareness for Siloam Mission and other local causes. In 2020, he took on his legendary “50K‑for‑50” challeng, 50 km runs, 50 different charities throughout the year, culminating in a 100 km Boxing Day marathon around the Museum of Human Rights, all in honor of mental wellness and community giving. As founder of Taking Stigma to the Trash, Junel continues to turn every stride into impact, raising six‑figure sums for CancerCare and championing mental health in Manitoba. His unwavering energy, dedication to others, and belief that personal passion can spark systemic change shine brightly in every story he shares.
