It might seem strange that Trent Reznor, the founding and only consistent member of American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, has ended up spending the latter part of his career scoring blockbuster movies like Gone Girl and The Social Network. But those more familiar with the band’s work will know that his taste for the cinematic has always been on show in his music. This month’s Naptime sees drowzee exploring the artist’s back catalogue, skipping the vocal-led heavy rock singles in favor of the instrumental album cuts which foreshadow this transition. Expect anxious ambient noise, melancholic piano motifs, pounding industrial rave and more.
