It’s a powerful picture of the seasons when God has brought us through something hard, but the next chapter hasn’t unfolded yet. This is where the practice of waiting well becomes essential.As Noah sends out the raven and the dove, he learns to look for the small signs of God’s restoring work—a single olive leaf that whispers, “Renewal has begun.” When God finally calls him out of the ark, He establishes a covenant of mercy, marked by the rainbow. It’s not a symbol of humanity’s commitment to God, but God’s gracious promise never to abandon creation or let judgment have the final word.This promise leads us straight to the New Testament.
