Listen "Numbers Chapter 29, Episode 172"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode Moses continues to remind the children of Israel of the sacrifices they are required to make once they get into the promised land. We covered the sacrifices to be offered during the Feast of Trumpets, the day of Atonement, and the feast of Tabernacles. The feast of trumpets is when Trumpets were blown marking the beginning of a new year and a start of 10 day’s of repentance and doing good deeds to ensure their names were written in the book of life. The Day of Atonement was the most important day for the children of Israel because on this day the sins of the nation was atoned for. The feast of Tabernacles was celebrated to remind them of how God was with them during their 40 year journey in the wilderness. For us the feast of Trumpets would be a type of the warning signs of the times which should remind us to draw closer to God because judgment day is coming. The day of Atonement would be a type of judgement day (thank God Jesus has already died and taken all our penalty). The Feast of Tabernacles is a type of God living inside us as we journey to our promised land (heaven) and look forward to being forever with the Lord. Tabernacle means dwelling place in the Strongs concordance.
