Listen "How Nutrition Taught Me To Respect Life"
Episode Synopsis
Most people change the way they eat for different reasons. Some want to lose weight, some are chasing longevity, others just want to feel better. My own journey with nutrition started with a very practical purpose: I needed to drop weight to get into the Marines. Later, after watching my dad suffer from dementia, it became about prevention and taking control of my health. But the real shift came when I saw how nutrition could change not just my life, but someone else’s. My mom had been in long-term hospice care, and I started spending more time with her—encouraging small, steady changes in how she ate. Slowly, she got stronger, and eventually she was able to come out of hospice. That moment made me realize nutrition is more than fuel, more than performance, more than just “health.” It’s respect. It’s love. It’s a way to honor life itself.Over the years, nutrition has evolved from being about goals and survival to being about something spiritual—creating clarity, freedom, and a deeper respect for the body and the life I’ve been given.
