Episode Synopsis
[Edit: This episode is now archived at www.Ourmedia.org]
This is a five minute collage of the first episode of Podcast
Supplemental. This version is a good sample for new listeners trying out the show.
What is Podcast Supplemental?
Podcast Supplemental is mostly college geeks and assorted miscreants from the Electronic Media Division of the
College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Ohio spinning tall tales and retelling youthful exploits. This production is an experiment and an avenue for practice of other future projects which explores the emerging technologies in independent, grassroots media. Featuring by-the-seat-of-the-pants style of production reminiscent of times sitting around drinking and playing cards on a Friday night. The content of this podcast is created under a Creative Commons license, which makes sampling the content contained in the show and permissible to anyone, as long as it is not used for commercial purposes.
There is a Google Group (aka email list) for Podcast Supplemental at: http://groups-beta.google.com/group/supplemental
We also have a profile at Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/podcastsupplemental
See the previous post for the whole show and for the show notes.
We are finally up at the directory at http://www.podcast.net, after a couple day wait.
The content links work alright, but there looks like there is a problem in regards to the RSS enclosures that allow automatic download for those using subscription software.
I thought maybe this was a problem on the Livejournal end (like enclosures are not supported yet, or something to that effect), but I examined another's LJ based podcast geekcast code, and his code seems to work alright. I've since made the Supplemental community into a paid account by using my last gift code (Thank You julylorelei!) , and hopefully this will do the trick.
I had assumed that since my main account was a paid one, this would carry over to that account's managed communities. Perhaps that is not true. We will have to see.
I'm going to be sorely disappointed if it turns out that the enclosure feature is turned off for community journals. :(
