NERVE BLOCKSPSA NERVE BLOCKAlso known as zygomatic block or tuberosity block***Site of diffusion – infratemporal fossaeNo bony anatomical landmarkNo subjective symptoms needle amount – half of bony needleComplications          o Hematoma – injury to pterygoid plexus of veins             ◾ Rx – intermittent cold pack          o Mandibular anesthesiaM S A NERVE BLOCKMiddle superior alveolarMB root of 1st M + 1st PM + 2nd PMIANBSpace of diffusion — pterygomandibular spaceMost commonly pierced muscle – Buccinator muscle (normal)Trismus in IANB — due to piercing medial pterygoid muscle (abnormal)          o Hematoma in infratemporal fossaTransient facial nerve palsy — LA deposited in parotid glandSecondary complication — hematomaCan extract canine and 1st PM with IANB injection onlyIANB and Mandibular foramen wrt occlusal plane         o Above 6 years — above occlusal plane         o At 6 years — at occlusal plane         o Below 6 years — below occlusal plane (ie; 5 mm below)
