Listen "Why you should never guarantee success"
Episode Synopsis
As a coach, mentor or learning service provider, you want to help others learn and grow, and you are on your learning journey. Coaches who have been in the industry for a while often get jaded due to a lack of results and face self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Clients often come to me who have been working with big-name success coaches after laying out thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars over several years and failing to recoup their costs, let alone make a profit. When they start to ask questions, they are told they are being negative and uncoachable and to stop complaining. They are made to feel it's their fault they haven't gotten the results promised.
Here's what I tell them about the success industry, why you should never guarantee success and what you can do instead to handle risk and risk reversal with your clients to avoid leaving them with the same sense of shame or failure if things don't go according to plan.
