An effective content process is your ticket to great quality.
When I've got an email campaign ready, I have a checklist I've created myself that I go through.
I pull it up every time. I don't have it memorized, I don't skimp a step. Here it is:

Do the images load quickly?
Have I added in the correct subscription filters?
I click on all the links and images, and make sure they go to the right page with the correct utms
I read through the written copy, paste in Grammarly as a spot check to make sure I don't miss simple things
I check my subject lines (there are invariably several we're testing)
I check my preheader text
I make sure images have alt text
I make sure the email looks good on both desktop and mobile (I send a test to myself and look at my phone)
I check the "from" and "reply-to" addresses
For big segments I make sure the campaign throttles sends over a period of time
I send test versions to coworkers as a final qa check

I don't even have to think about this anymore. I just pull up the list, go through my check, and it saves me so much headache.
And when you've got the quality down, your audience won't be distracted from the value you're trying to deliver.
