We have finally come to the end of 2 Samuel this weekend. I love the way the book ends. The Bible is written in such a way that each author, inspired by God faithfully records His Word, then passes it on to the next, continuing the divine narrative across generations. Every book is pointing us to one person who will die in one place for the sins of man. There are some points that you can’t miss when you are studying and interpreting the Word of God. This is one of them. The means by which we approach God is by God’s provision of a sacrifice that will come from one nation, one tribe, one family, and by one man. He will be the Son of David, and he will die at one place, Calvary. Outside of Him, there is no way, there is no truth, and there is no life. What a way to end our study in this marvelous book.
