Episode Synopsis

Three Philadelphia police officers are in the hospital after being pepper-sprayed as they tried to break up a large crowd in University City last night.

Most people in the group were kids.

Authorities say this happened around 8:00 at 40th and Market, where a crowd of about four to five-hundred people gathered after homecoming events at U-Penn.

Police say some in the crowd started to act unruly, which is why they intervened. That's when someone started pepper spraying the officers.

The officers were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

Police arrested several people and were eventually able to disperse the crowd.
