On this episode we are joined by the wonderful, Coach Sandy Abney. Sandy currently serves as the Chief Science Officer for the CSCCa. Her professional background includes serving a deputy director of high performance for the Team China Olympic Committee, over 18 years as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Texas, and an accomplished career through sport and weightlifting. Born and raised in Texas, she was a former heptathlete and powerlifter turn weight lifter, becoming a Master Olympic Weightlifting National Champion, at the 63 kilo class, and competing for a sport on the 2004 USA Olympic Team. Sandy reflects on her journey and early days in coaching. Shares some of her favorite stories, including experiences with Ursala Garza Papandrea and Angel Spassov.
