Listen "Introduction to the Devout Life: Third Part--Chapter 26"
Episode Synopsis
Hello, Catholic Pilgrims. Welcome back. Today is a super short reading, but a good one nonetheless. One of the things about being on social media that is extremely important to me is that I never sound different than how I really speak. I'm not a "keep it real" potty mouth, but I'm also not someone that sounds like a cheesy TV evangelist. If you were to ever talk to me in person, you'd find that my writing style aligns fairly well with the way I speak to people. I don't think you need to set a low bar in how you talk about God in order to appeal to the "unchurched" or younger generations, plus, that's just not me. I, also, cannot stand when people act like they are always caught up in rapture with the way they talk about God. It's disingenuous even though its meant to convey a deep faith life. You know the people I'm talking about: The ones that speak breathily and have a "praise Jesus' after everything you say. St. Francis is going to talk to us today about conversations concerning God. How should we talk to others about God? Let's hear what he has to say as we open our books to Chapter Twenty-Six of the Third Part.
