Listen "Demonstrating Anasazi-style flutes"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode, I demonstrate two bamboo flutes inspired by descriptions and photographs of flutes found in a cave in Arizona. In addition, I used to have similar flutes I had bought at a local Native American music festival. An Anasazi flute has finger holes positioned so three such holes are closer to the mouthpiece end and three others are closer to the foot of the instrument. In addition, the mouthpiece is slightly beveled (cut at a slant). Unlike the Native American courting flute, the Anasazi flute is challenging to play and requires considerable skill on the part of the player. Hosted on Acast.
