Family Matters Pt 2In Part one of our Family Matters series we compared how everyone can potentially view the church as a family or a business. Do you come to church expecting someone to do your Christianity for you? Is the sermon the only bible you year? Is the worship the only time in your week that you praise God? Does spectating describe your Christian experience? The word used for church in the new testament had nothing to do with buildings or religion. Church - Ekklesia meant a group of people who were called out for a purpose. Are you living the called out life? Are you part of the movement or are you observing monuments? This week we look at the purpose of a family. Since the church is referred to as a family in scripture we need to ask ourselves what is the purpose of family. Whether that's the family of God or your personal family, the purpose of family is to mature you, develop you, challenge you.
