Setting boundaries is a critical skill towards self love and acceptance. Setting boundaries is about YOU. Boundaries are your guidelines you establish to feel safe. Understand, boundaries are not about controlling others (that falls into toxic expectations). Boundaries are not telling others what they can and can't do; rather boundaries establishes guidelines about your actions should your limits/requests not be honored. Ultimately, we don't have the responsibility to manage others emotions or actions. However, we are responsible for our own emotions, feelings, and actions. Boundaries allow us to have support and resources in place that guide how we will respond in certain situations.
