Listen "Episode 22: Passionate About Suffering"
Episode Synopsis
What we are not fuxing with today is being passionate about our suffering. We bring it back to the basics and review Chapter 8: Moved By Passion: Eros and Responsibility, in Sisters of the Yam, where the Queen writes "the energy that we bring to situations that arouse hostility or pain can easily be redirected. We can tell ourselves daily to direct our most intense feeling to those areas of our lives that bring pleasure and delight." I know, so much easier said than done. We use this framework to discuss the recent untimely passing of a fellow Uppity Black Woman - a death that forces the query directed to us all: Sis do you apply the same vigilance to your caretaking that you do to your suffering?
