This is the eighth episode of the I Am Black History podcast brought to you by InTheBlack:Canada (ITBC), DeeP Visions Media, and a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts. In this episode, meet Debbie Miller Brown who was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia but grew up in Brantford, Ontario. Debbie has been into running from as far back as she can remember and has great stories to tell about her time as a participant at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico. Debbie says her adopted mom and dad shielded her and her siblings from racism and it’s only now that she is learning about the history of Black people in this country and exploring her Nova Scotian roots.
