READ:  Romans 12:1-8When we take a moment to think about the intricacies of the universe and the divine timing of events in our lives we come to the conclusion that our God is AWESOME. Everything comes from God. Everything exists because his power allows it to exist. Everything is intended to bring Him glory. When we really get that, the only way we can respond is by giving our whole selves to Him. Our spiritual, mental, financial, relational, occupational and yes, even physical selves. Why? Because He deserves it. It all comes from Him anyway. When we believe in Jesus, our eyes are opened to the reality of how good God is and we respond in sacrificial worship.We were saved from our sins and brought into relationship with God but also with other believers. We are part of a global body of people who belong to Christ, but also belong to each other. That means that we need to honestly evaluate ourselves so that we can be functional parts of the body. If we think too low of ourselves, we’ll believe we have nothing to offer the body of Christ. If we think too highly of ourselves, we’ll believe we don’t owe the body of Christ anything, or we’ll use our talents to get what we want instead of serving others.God, in his grace, has not just made us part of the body of Christ but also given each of us special gifts. Belonging to the church is just the first step. If we belong to the body, we have a role to play. That’s what the gifts are for! All of us have received a special grace from God to do certain things well, not for our own sake, but for His glory. As all of us learn and grow in using our gifts together, we will begin to look like the type of community that represents heaven on earth. When all of us commit to give our whole selves to God and operate in the gifts that He has given us, we will transform our families, jobs and schools by showing the world the glory of God through our lives!DISCUSSION QUESTIONSDo you feel like you belong in the body of Christ?
