That's What The Law is For - Galatians 3:19-22

Believers, at times, are guilty of thinking that by their continued obedience, they will be better in their obedience to the laws of God. Not only this, but many also unknowingly draw their confidence of being righteous before God because of it. However, Paul made it clear that the law was not given so that one would have the power to obey it or be declared righteous because of it. If anything, the law confined everyone under sin so that it will be clear that if anyone would be declared righteous and be spiritually alive to obey the law, it will be on the basis of faith in Christ Jesus. Therefore, we hope to be able to obey the law not by mastering our obedience to it, but by faith in Christ Jesus.
