Elizabeth Szabo is a Pittsburgh native and lifelong resident. After graduating from Washington& Jefferson College with a double B.A. in Psychology and English, she subsequently earned herJ.D. from The University of Pittsburgh School of Law with an emphasis on Intellectual Property& Technology Law. After her admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, Liz worked as an attorney foryears, including as a law clerk to a Federal Judge and as an attorney representing indigentclients at a nonprofit legal services organization in the region.Liz’s true passion has always been in hospitality and, after seeing a void in the Pittsburghmarket for smoothies, particularly nutritional meal replacements, she became determined tointroduce smoothies to the Pittsburgh area. Recognizing Smoothie King as the leader in theindustry, she decided to become a franchisee, ultimately opening two stores in 2016, one ofwhich is a drive-thru-only location in Bridgeville, and the other a freestanding location inWexford, PA, which offers both drive-thru and walk-in service. While she remains a licensedattorney, she left the practice of law to focus full-time on her locations once joining the brand.With the only two locations to date in the entirety of Western Pennsylvania, Smoothie KingBridgeville and Smoothie King Wexford were voted First Place Best Smoothie by Pittsburgh CityPaper’s “Best Of” Readers’ Choice poll in both 2020 and 2021.
