Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian recover the torso of their good buddy. When they go to a tavern and share a drink, Lan Wangji falls unconscious after one bowl. Wei Wuxian drags him to the inn and then sneaks out to summon Wen Ning and remove the nails in his head. To Wei Wuxian’s surprise, Lan Wangji appears and drunkenly pushes Wen Ning away. Wei Wuxian coerces him back to the inn and teases him with questions. But at 9pm, Lan Wangji determines it is time to sleep and pushes them into bed to sleep. In the morning, Wei Wuxian tricks Lan Wangji into thinking they slept together. Seeing him flustered and angry, Wei Wuxian reveals the truth and gives him space to calm down. Outside the inn, he sees children playing a game about the sunshot campaign and is hit with painful memories.
