Xie Lian attempts to steal from a mortal, but is caught by a group of junior officials. He runs back home ashamed. When he later goes to a mountain to do secluded cultivation training, he unluckily runs into the same group of junior officials. They try to bully him, but Xie Lian fights back, until suddenly Mu Qing arrives and takes the junior officials’ side. Angry and shamed, Xie Lian leaves the mountain and runs into the White Clothed Calamity. Instead of killing him, the white clothed calamity hugs and comforts Xie Lian. Xie Lian resists him, but loses their fight and returns home injured. Mu Qing is there and reveals to Feng Xin that Xie Lian robbed, causing Xie Lian to go crazy and chase Mu Qing out.
