The heavenly officials can’t figure out who the father of the fetus spirit is, and so their meeting is dismissed. Xie Lian goes back to Puqi shrine to find Hua Cheng there paying a visit! He cooks them dinner, but his terrible cooking creates a poisonous soup that makes Qi Rong sick. Hua Cheng, however, eats the soup happily and praises Xie Lian’s cooking.
