The human face disease spreads throughout Xian Le capital, and Xie Lian figures out the cure, but the cure is so horrifying that he can’t let anyone know. Xie Lian loses faith in himself and his powers are strained, as he continues to lose against the yong’an army and unsuccessfully tries to contain the spread of the disease. Finally, the people of Xian Le turn their backs on Xie Lian and burn all his temples and desecrate all his statues, and Xie Lian is summoned back to heaven. But one young devoted follower vows to remember Xie Lian forever, and worship him as his one true god.
