Episode Synopsis
NOVEMBER 27 - Real Love Tells the Truth3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 28:23–24; Psalm 136; Joshua 17–18//3-Year Bible Devotional Book Available on Amazon//________________________________________Whoever rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than he who flatters with his tongue. Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “That is no transgression,” is a companion to a man who destroys. — Proverbs 28:23–24Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. — Psalm 136:1The people of Joseph said, “The hill country is not enough for us,” … Then Joshua said … “You are numerous and very powerful. You will have not only one allotment but the forested hill country as well.” — Joshua 17:14,17–18________________________________________Let’s be real—no one loves being corrected. Whether it's a parent calling you out for an attitude or a friend pointing out you crossed a line, it can feel harsh or embarrassing. But Proverbs 28:23 reminds us that loving correction is better than fake flattery. Real love isn’t afraid to speak the truth. Psalm 136 repeats one powerful truth 26 times: God’s love never runs out. And in Joshua 17–18, we see the people of Joseph wanting more land, but Joshua doesn't give them an easy pass—he challenges them to rise up and claim what God has already given them. That’s what love does. It calls us to more, not less.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Truth Over Flattery: Do you surround yourself with people who tell you what you want to hear, or what you need to hear? Godly friends and mentors are willing to be honest with you—even when it’s uncomfortable.2. Forever Love: Psalm 136 reminds us again and again that God's love endures forever. Why do you think that truth is repeated so often? How does knowing that God’s love never gives up help you receive correction better?3. Step Into It: The tribes in Joshua were hesitant to take all God had given them. Are you sitting back in fear or frustration when God is calling you to step out in faith and effort?________________________________________BOTTOM LINEGod’s love is real, honest, and forever. It doesn’t flatter—it builds. Through correction, challenge, and truth, God is shaping us to step into all He’s planned for us.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, Thank You that Your love never gives up on me. Help me to receive correction with a humble heart and recognize it as an act of love. Surround me with people who speak truth and push me toward Your best. Give me the courage to step forward when You call me to more. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
