Episode Synopsis

Question 1: Tell us a little bit about how you landed in the health and fitness and weight loss industry? I started this journey gaining weight… you heard that right! I simply went to the gym with a friend at like 16 years old. I was so skinny and weak; I couldn’t even pick up the 25 DB and manage them for a seated shoulder press. I literally drove to workout at 5A before school so none of my friends would see me. Was 100% ALL in, grabbed bodybuilding magazines and asked questions. Mike Seder was a key motivator in my life. He was so fit, I really appreciated and looked up to him. I got a job at that gym (YMCA) as a gym assistant. Then went into bodybuilding. Then became a personal trainer and had a nice little clientele from helping open the first nice big gym (24 Hour fitness in The Woodlands Texas). So, I took nutrition /personal training courses and started writing meal plans for my clients as a trainer. The food or what people put in their mouth is 75+percent of their health and wellness results. Most simply choose not to outrun the fork.
Question 2: What have you noticed are some key themes your patients currently struggle with if any regarding fitness and weight loss? Habits, if we don’t get the mind right and get them emotionally connected to their goals and their Why’s, it just doesn’t last! They might lose the weight and then go right back to the same behavior. Timing ⏱️ is everything.Learning how to understand their metabolism/body for long term success – our focus is helping them learn the Healthy Habits.
Question 3: Do you feel like men and women have different struggles in regard to weight loss especially as we age? Typically, as an average, yes! Men tend to drop weight easier. I have seen girls drop super-fast as well. In most cases it really comes down to mindset and commitment. – Not saying that some hormonal factors can’t play a role.
Question 4: What is your Optimal Weight 5 & 1 plan? It is made up of 5 fueling’s and one Lean & Green meal. This is designed by Dr.A. A critical care Doctor that created a system to help humans understand and learn healthy habits. This program is designed to create a bridge to get humans into whole healthy foods. If they are not mentally and emotionally ready with a Why, goals and action items. They simply just go back to their old habits and patterns.
Question 5: I’ve seen many of your amazing client testimonials… can you share a little bit on what protocol you follow…and is it tailored to each individual client?
With years of experience, there is several directions that can be taken. The 5&1 plan can be the fastest easiest plan without working out. It is not the right plan for everyone!!!
Question 6: How do you help clients stay consistent and how are you working with them daily, weekly, monthly…? The on boarding process is so fun we go over the program, help with orders, then the first week consists of daily check ins and we use the scale a lot for the first week… we can tell if they are getting into fat burn mode or not.
Question 7: What would you say to someone who may be struggling to make the first step in their weight loss journey? This is a true mental game we are programed to medicate our own bodies by what we see/hear/ feel and the media. So if you can’t see and believe that can go all in then then? The fact is if you don’t do something about your health, you tend to be forced to deal with it later.
Question 8: What does back to body basics mean to you? God given natural is truly back to basics!!! You have a seed that is passed down from a healthy plant or animal. So, the better and more natural the nutrients the higher quality the offspring. In short, the more manmade isolated and chemical changes we make to anything, we see changes that have side effects and or cellular damage in a way.
