that is the thing about white people in the u.s.  a lot of people claim to be part native american  that is why u.s. caucasians are not the same as europeans.   i do think there is something going on where like  folks like the current president, he was born here but his parents are german and scottish. not american whatesoever. i wonder if there are a lot of caucasians that are the on the edge like in the u.s. at the moment.  it could be like a generational thing where in gen x  there are fewer caucasian people with native american heritage and they have strictly european heritage. and then the gen y  generation was the most diverse generation after the civil rights movement. then gen z is supposed to be even more diverse. i am not saying anything about it other than there may be something like that going on. where previous generations are less diverse
