In this podcast, we look at disability within storytelling mediums and how it situates itself in terms of race and other intersectional identities. This podcast covers themes of visibility, representation, stigma and intersectionality.
○ Topic 1: Disability as a binary in genre-specific storytelling (superhero stories, horror film, and children's fairytales)
○ Topic 2: Intersectionality in media, and how it often further stigmatized certain groups instead of working to empower them (here we use examples from both western and non-western media)
Overall, we work to uncover the ableist patterns in disability representation
