Acts 1:9-11 which speaks of Christ coming on the clouds in like manner is being understood as His returnin connection with the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in AD 70. The text is clearly typologically associated with temple imagery. It is also found in the center of Israel's restoration motif along with the coming of the kingdom of God.
