·       Matthew 8:23-27 - 23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are
you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Starter Question: Do you know someone who makes a promise to God and then doesn’t keep the promise? 
Why do you think that happens?
1.    Read Matthew 8:23-27
2.    Have you ever felt out of control, like the disciples in the storm?  What were the circumstances?
3.    In crisis, would you say your prayers are:
a.     Desperate cries for help.
b.     Statements of faith.
c.      Non-existent.
d.      Other
Why do you think this is your response?
4.      Jesus calls the disciples “cowards.”  How do you
think they felt when they heard Jesus call them by that name?
5.      Jesus tells the disciples they have “little faith,” or “short faith.”  In a crisis, what would it look like to have
big faith, or tall faith?
6.     What are specific steps you can take to not be a coward and to grow your faith?
