If the Biblical account of Jewish history is accurate, then it would be expected that there should also be some archeological evidence of a large Israeli population in Canaan a few hundred years later.   Back in 2002 I noted in the reference book "Archeology and the Bible", by Thompson, resident at the Cairo Museum, dated to more than 3200 years ago, a poem, written by Merneptah (1213-1203) and found in a stele, the then Pharaoh of Egypt, boasting of his victories in battles held in Canaan, this quote "Israel is laid waste".   The Merneptah Stele
