We're between today’s cries of “Hosanna” and tomorrow’s shouts of “Crucify.” There’s an increasing tension as Good Friday is around the corner - however impossible that might seem given today’s street celebration.
Who was in the Jerusalem crowd that day?  Can we admit that those same deeply embedded feelings are within us still – even this side of Easter.  Suffering, misjudgments, betrayal, denial, sin are real, as real today as ever before – and so often our Palm Sundays give way to dark Fridays and we must learn again and again to keep our eyes open to a “God encounter,” keep our Fridays open to the possibility of Easter – a resurrection cycle that’s sometimes hard to see.
