Episode Synopsis

Our human response to danger is often to flee or fight. Might Jesus have experienced similar temptations in Gethsamane moments before his arrest when he "sweat great drops of blood," knelt in anguish, calling for "this cup to be removed" (Luke 22:42-44)? We can't be sure, though his full humanity would surely have been tested. By exploring these temptations in this 22-minute audio monologue, we can begin to understand the full significance of Jesus' choice to go the way of the cross, demonstrating his radical commitment to nonviolence and love. We are called to do the same.
