Stories of the Bible, Podcast 1, “Pre Mortal Life, The War in Heaven”Christians must recognize the four primary stages of our existence: (1) The Premortal Existence; (2) The Mortal Existence or life on earth; (3) The Post Mortal Existence or Spirit World and (4) The Resurrection and Final Judgment.In the Pre-Mortal existence, we were all brothers and sisters, spirits created in the image of God. For as Paul said.Hebrews 12:9“Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?”We lived together in heaven with God our Father and his Son Jesus Christ. We did not have a physical Body, but we had agency. We were immortal spirits. We didn’t know what it was like to have a physical body. We were really excited when we learned that God was going to create the earth.Job 38:4-7“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? We were the morning stars who sang together. We were the sons of God who shouted for joy.  It is clear that we wanted a physical body. It is also clear that we understood why the Lord created the earth. Our journey began in heaven. The Apostle Peter understood our divine birthright when he said that “ye might be partakers of the divine nature.”2 Peter 1:1-4“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”The second stage of the journey is earth. The third stage of our journey is the world of spirits where we go when we die to wait for the resurrection. And the final stage of the journey will be the resurrection and final judgment where we will be assigned our inheritance according to the laws we obeyed while on earth. The just and righteous will return to live with God. The unjust and unrighteous won’t as indicated by the story of the five wise virgins and the five foolish virgins.In this podcast we deal only with our premortal life and the War in Heaven. Even as spirits in heaven, God chose us in Christ but, he gave us our agency.EPHESIANS 1:3-5“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,From the very beginning of our journey, even in heaven, before coming to earth, Lucifer played a major part.  Isaiah 14:12-17“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
