Listen "EP24: Upcycling Paper Pens w/ Syahi's Ananya Kedia & Muskan Gautam"
Episode Synopsis
In this episode of YM, I invited the team behind Syahi, a project which makes pens out of upcycled paper alongside empowering communities of migrant women. Their main goal is to combat India’s growing problem of single use plastic and make a difference in both, the society and the environment.
Ananya, Muskan and I spoke about what Syahi is and what got them interested in something like it, as college students. We also discuss the difficulties faced by them during the pandemic and other blockers in their growth.
We spoke about the wonderful women that are a part of Syahi, and also the struggles they face coming from backward families. Ananya & Muskan also tell us about their experiences of being a business in the sustainable industry.
Lastly, we spoke about their vision and where Syahi will stand 5 years down the line.
