Listen "The perspectives of Black Lives Matter from two very different black lives in Ireland"
Episode Synopsis
I could never imagine asking a black person "if they ever wished they weren't black", but on this very open and honest podcast I asked this question and much more. Omar Bakari from Somalia, who finally emerged from Direct Provision in Ireland with his wife and two children after 9 years and Nadine Hughes Campbell from Montreal who has just had a baby (Noah!) with her Cork partner, could not have different backgrounds, but they are both black. They were kind enough to discuss the whole issue of racism, their Irish experience and their perspectives on the 'Black Lives Matter' movement. Enjoy the show..
