Listen "Episode 155: Review: "Never Let Go": Are There Eyes in the Woods?"
Episode Synopsis
The boys turn against their mother in the final act, which even felt wonderfully evocative of Goodnight Mommy (albeit without any similarly horrific, absolutely reality-skewering turns). This left the audience wondering how seriously we should take the collateral damage along the way. While the movie doesn't exactly falter at the end, it does remove any doubt about the reality in which it is set. The reason this isn't exactly as dismal as it should be is that the story revolves around family drama rather than alien narrative logic, keeping relationship dynamics at its core. It's true that you'll enjoy yourself if you're the kind of watcher who enjoys finding story flaws.
