Today’s message is in response to some big stuff folks are going through right now. A war in Ukraine. A young woman recovering from a major cancer surgery. A colleague grieving a step-son’s suicide. The funeral of a long time friend and member of this congregation.From the 8th chapter of the gospel of Luke, we are going to read about a storm. Storms are real things, of course, but they also serve as a metaphor for overwhelming challenges and circumstances in which we often find ourselves, like this week. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this?
