Hi everyone :-) In this one, Lindy and I remind ourselves of the importance of creation myths, as they give us a picture of how we can create our lives. A myth discussed in this episode is a version of the Egyptian creation myth that begins with darkness. Light is then created because of the spoken word- it is this light that makes the god Ra become aware of himself.  We discuss the idea of knowing who you are; the importance of living life consciously. As I talk about how easy it is to live unconsciously, I’m challenged by Lindy’s reminder that we are always making choices that influence our lives. Both cultural and biblical creation stories talk about the spoken word being an essential part of creation. Lindy and I talk our experiences of the importance of using words to create our lives just as the gods used myths to create. Most importantly we talk about the idea that we, like the ancient Egyptian God Ra and the Tahitian God Tangora, are Gods that need the power of the word and the light of consciousness in order to become who we are.
