Following a pivotal moment as a 6 yr old when he and his two brothers (8, 3) were left stranded by their mother hundreds of miles away from their closest family member, Kevin Carroll developed an "I'll show you" mentality that would serve him well in life. Thanks to lessons learned on the playground and in the library, he built a unique career path as a translator in the Air Force, the third African American trainer in the NBA and the "Mayor" of Nike. Kevin touches on a number of great life lessons collected on that journey, such as ensuring you have a Chief Encouragement Officer in your life and remaining a constant learner, but I most enjoyed hearing his experience "babysitting" Kobe Bryant.
