Listen "Live Pono Love Pono Episode 22: Who is the MVP? with guest speakers from the Wellness Committee"
Episode Synopsis
January flew by! Love Pono wants to continue our Love Yourself theme by integrating our February Talk Tuesday series around the same topic. Our February theme is “Take Care of the MVP!” Who’s the MVP? YOU! You are the most valuable player, so for the whole month we are going to share topics that touch upon you, being the most valuable person in your life.
What is the best way to be your own most valuable person? Take care of yourself, that’s how! By incorporating healthy habits and routines into our life we practice self care that has lasting effects. On this podcast, Student Government President Alex Williamson talks with Leeward’s Faculty Wellness Committee about trying different plant based choices. We discuss the importance of finding a meal plan or routine that works right for you, because not everyone is the same. We also talk about how taking yourself on a date is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. If you are feeling down and out, sometimes a nice home-cooked meal can be a great way to get that positive energy you need. It’s easy to treat comfort food like a guilty pleasure, especially when we are already feeling low. With Alex’s plant based Macaroni and “cheese” recipe, you can feel comforted while also making healthier decisions. Good choices for your body and self are super important when it comes to your mental health. We encourage you to listen along, and we hope you are inspired! Make sure to remember that you deserve to feel good and take YOURSELF out. You are your own MVP! Thanks for listening, and we’d love to hear some of your favorite healthy comfort food recipes as well!
