We continue to highlight child abuse awareness this week focusing on abandonment and neglect, and how it affects developing brains of children. We know caregivers are essential to our attachment styles (covered in this episode, Erica Nuni, LMFT explains attachment styles), and it is understood that abandonment and neglect (in all forms) can severely impact a child for the duration of their lives--but there is HOPE!  Jeremy also brings understanding to a well established trauma informed therapy,  EMDR and how it is effective in reconsolidating painful memories and helping the survivor achieve closure. RevaluationIn evaluating childhood trauma, children are often diagnosed with ADHD where trauma is present.
