(see below), 28% of cats who were relinquished to shelters were relinquished for behavioural reasons, and of those 28%, 43% were relinquished for house soiling. While this is a distressing situation for cats and caregivers alike, we actually have a really good chance of successfully treating these cases, as long as we take the path to getting to the correct diagnosis.
